October is an exciting month for me, with two new releases! Nikki is helping me celebrate by inviting me to guest blog! I’ll be giving away a copy of my first Samhain book, TEMPT ME TWICE, as part of Nikki’s awesome e-reader prize! You can read about TEMPT ME TWICE, my contemporary ménage novella, on the Samhain website, or on mine: www.EdenBradley.com.

Writing ménage was so much fun I decided to do it again in THE SEEKING KISS, just out October 20th from Samhain! THE SEEKING KISS is Book One in my new Midnight Playground vampire series. Here’s the blurb:

Two vampires, one woman, an eternity of love and desire…if only she’s strong enough…

Midnight Playground, Book 1

London 2069
For as long as Nissa has known about Midnight Playground, the most exclusive of a world-wide network of vampire sex clubs, she has yearned to gain entrance—and to become one of them. Orphaned and alone from a young age, she has nothing to lose and nothing to stop her from indulging in her darkest fantasies.

Hex and his maker, Aleron, have enjoyed many play partners at the club and have often shared in the euphoria of the Seeking Kiss, that sensual blood exchange between vampires and their lovers. But Nissa’s beauty, intelligence and strength is a siren call he can’t resist.. His desire for her and her willingness to let herself be drawn by their mental pull compels Hex to consider offering to her something he’s never given another mortal– the treasured Turning Kiss.

The beautiful vampire pair entice Nissa into an intimate sexual realm beyond her wildest dreams—and she revels in it. But when she finds herself falling for one of the powerful duo, it could mean the end of her deepest fantasies. Or a new beginning she never dared to imagine…

I haven’t written a vampire story in over twenty years. I’ve always loved to read vampire stories, and I’m not sure why it’s taken me so long to get back to writing them. There’s something mysteriously sexy about a vampire. Films and books have filled our minds with these intriguing images, and each one creates a unique myth about them. In the futuristic world of my Midnight Playground series, vampires are an accepted part of society, if kept separate. They are feared, revered. And desired. The most sensual creatures on earth. Almost makes me want to go there, to the rough and frightening London of 2069. Almost….

My other October release, THE BEAUTY OF SURRENDER, is out in bookstores on October 27th, but can be pre-ordered now at Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Beauty-Surrender-Eden-Bradley/dp/0553385585/ , or at Borders or Barnes & Noble online. It’s also available in Kindle format if you’d rather do your reading digitally.

THE BEAUTY OF SURRENDER is a two-part contemporary erotic novel whose theme is Shibari, the ancient and sensual art of Japanese rope bondage:

Shibari, the ancient art of erotic restraint…Its finely knotted ropes are a turn-on, a sexual experience…and, for some, an absolute necessity.

Serving the Master: Desmond and Ava
At a San Francisco sex club called Pinnacle, Ava Gregory seeks something she cannot quite describe. But of one thing she is certain: the moments when she feels her most beautiful and complete are when she is tightly restrained in the Shibari ropes. At Pinnacle, she’s paired with a master: Desmond Hale, who thrives on control. But something surprising happens when Desmond binds Ava’s willing body and takes her to the edge of ecstasy. And now the two are taking their relationship out of the shadows of the club, sharing secrets unleashed and bodies unbound.…

Soothing the Beast: Marina and James
An art dealer and Shibari master, Marina has never hesitated to dominate anyone. Until she meets James, a dark, gorgeous, towering journalist who’s survived horrors around the world. James confesses that submission is the only way to clear his troubled mind, but Marina is instantly overwhelmed by his strength and magnetism. To share the pleasures of bondage, something must change between them. When it does, it will come with an explosion of unexpected pleasure—and a relationship that neither could ever have imagined.…

I always love to explore power play, in every form. The psychology of why people look to exotic forms of sensual stimulation is fascinating to me, and this book was no different. The second part of the book, Soothing the Beast, was especially challenging to write in that James is the one being bound. I wanted to pay a lot of attention to never making him appear weak to the reader-or to Marina-and I think I accomplished that. James is a strong, sexy, tortured hero, and I hope you’ll all fall in love with him!

I’m always interested to know what readers think about some of these more extreme sexual themes in books: bondage, BDSM, ménage, the exchange of blood in vampire books. I love that extra bit of excitement-more fun to write, and adds variety-but what do you love to read? What’s your favorite ‘extreme sport’ in erotic fiction?

**CONTEST** Everyone who visits Nikki’s blog today will be eligible to win a copy of my BDSM-themed e-novella, BREAKING SKYE. Just send me an email with ‘Nikki Duncan October Blog Party’ in the subject line: eden_bradley@yahoo.com. All entries must be received by midnight tomorrow night. A winner will be chosen on Saturday, October 24th.

Meanwhile, I hope you’ll enjoy my latest books! You can check my website www.EdenBradley.com for more book news and upcoming appearances. I’m always out and about in the Los Angeles area, on Playboy Radio, and I’ll be at the Romantic Times convention in April next year.

  1. Hi Eden,

It’s lovely to meet you! I’m actually a huge fan of any erotic romance covering bondage, BDSM, ménage, the exchange of blood in vampire and not to mention the shifters mating rituals. There’s something very visceral and sexual about such subjects. I would have to say that my favourite would have to be the dynamics between a Master and his submissive, I’m fascinated by the exchange of powers and how beautiful the symbiotic relationship is.

    Happy Reading!!!

Wow, Nikki! I’ve really enjoyed this series you have going. Getting into the minds of other authors and you CIS. I have to ask Ron these same question though I am sure they will be quite similar.

  3. Eli says:

    Hello!

They all look like good reads.. especially The Beauty of Surrender. :)

  4. crystal adkins says:

Hi Eden! I think I would really enjoy The Beauty of Surrender. The cover is very seductive :)

You said you love to read vamp novels, who is your favorite vampire writer? *besides yourself* *grins*

    Morning Nikki!

  5. Sandie E says:

Hi Eden, I just finished reading your FANTASTIC The Seeking Kiss. This is a story that will be read again many times over. It hit all of my hot buttons. The story line was riveting and a real page turner. And it was super hot and sexy. ‘The Seeking Kiss’ is Very Highly Recommended by me.

Now I’m waiting eagerly for your next in this series.

In answer to your question, I love all of those genres, but I prefer the BDSM to not be too extreme. A blood exchange is an intregal part of a vanpire stroy to me. But the menage is a HUGE BONUS in any genre. I adore them.

    Sandie

  6. Joder says:

I loved the excerpts! And I love being introduced to a bdsm story that’s well-written and truly understands the world of those who participate in those activities. Throw in some vamps and menages and I’m super excited.

  7. Lillie A says:

I don’t think I’ve read a romance that involves Shibari.Usually, any rope play in fiction is strictly a way to restrain, not the art form it can be. I’ll have to look for this one when I visit the book store next week.

As for my favorite extreme sport in fiction, it has to be the polyamorous relationships. Flips my switch every time :D

  8. Maggie J says:

I loved ‘The Seeking Kiss’!!!It was a page turner and will be on my re-read list.I have one question for you…When will the next one be out?

I actually like erotic romance covering bondage, BDSM, ménage and the vampire bite always gives me the shivers..in the good way..lol.When the shifters have there mating rituals…Holey Moley is all I can say.
It has to be a well written story for me to get into it.

  9. I love everything Eden writes, and I’m probably the luckiest fan girl I know, because I get to read them first :)
Seeking Kiss is outstanding and sensual-her world is so fascinating. I definitely want more!

  10. Eden Bradley says:

Good morning! I’m in California, so I’m always late-lol!
Anna-I love that power exchange dynamic, too. I’ve explored that a lot in my first two novels, THE DARK GARDEN and THE BEAUTY OF SURRENDER-and in Breaking Skye, my e-novella that’s up for grabs today.
Crystal-for vampire books I still adore Anne Rice, especially the first two, The Vampire Lestat and Interview With a Vampire. Anne Rice has been a huge influence on my writing voice, her vamp books as well as her erotica.
Sandie-I’m so glad you enjoyed THE SEEKING KISS! It’s really been one of my favorite stories to write. Menage is FUN to write, too-lol! I seem to be doing a lot of it these days…*G*
Lillie-the Shibari was quite hard to write effectively. Such a big part of it is the trance head space, and that can be slow on the page, so it was a delicate balance. I think you MUST get the power exchange and the sensuality of it on the page so it will make sense to the reader, as well as be entertaining. It’s fascinating when you’re actually doing it, but very difficult to translate into the written word-and it’s so visual! Midori has a gorgeous book on Shibari if anyone wants to know what it looks like.
Maggie-Yay-glad you liked my book! Unfortunately, due to my intense writing schedule, the next book in the Midnight Playground series, BLOODSONG, won’t be out until sometime next year. I’ll write it as soon as I can! It’ll be Aleron’s story, a BDSM book, and I can’t wait! But I have a book to write for Berkley Heat, one for Harlequin Spice and I have to get to work on The Smutketeers’ continuity Wasteland series.

  11. Ali says:

    Hi, Eden :)
It’s always interesting to read when it’s the hero being bound… and I’m sure you did a fantastic job with it in Beauty of Surrender… I look forward to reading this :)

  12. Natasha A. says:

Hi Eden! Hi Nikki! I just bought The Seeking Kiss and I can’t wait to start reading it! :D

  13. Natasha A. says:

OH! And I can’t wait for The Beauty of Surrender

  14. Hi Eden – Sold! I’m a fan of your writing already. Your two new books sound great. :yay

  15. Eden Bradley says:

Ali-I think so, too! A challenge, but one I loved. I’m eager to see reader reactions to James, who is one of the sexiest men I’ve ever written, IMO. he’s dark and complex-my favorite kind of guy!
So nice to see everyone here!

  16. Nancy Gilliland says:

All of these sound great, but I’m getting The Seeking Kiss asap. Congrats on the releases and the upcomings too.

  19. Fedora says:

Hi, Eden! Something I love about books and reading is being able to explore a lot of things that I might or might not do in reality. I do enjoy reading BSDM, menage, bondage, and the whole vampire thing though I’m not sure how comfortable I would be in real life :) Thanks for opening up new worlds for us readers!

  20. Eden Bradley says:

Fedora-excellent point! Some fantasies are better left as fantasies, and reading about them is a wonderful way to safely explore things you might not actually be ready for in person.

  21. Amy s. says:

Congrats on the new release and the upcoming release! Both books sound great!
